Causes Of Hair Loss
Thinning of hair affects both men and women, though the general feeling is that men are more prone to it because it ultimately leads to baldness in men, whereas it is not so common to see a bald woman. The causes of hair loss in people are many and vary in type and nature. The common causes of hair loss of course are universal such as pollution of air and water, stress, illness, poor eating habits etc. That apart, the causes of hair loss in women are due to menopause, thyroid disorder, anaemia, after childbirth etc. In men, the causes of hair loss could be genetically acquired due to family history of alopecia. The causes of hair loss could also be due to male hormone testosterone getting converted to dihydrotestosterone which in turn binds on to the hair leading to clogging of hair follicles. This closes the openings of hair follicles and halts the growth of hair. Hair loss vitamins such as the B vitamins are extremely important to arrest hair loss. Dietary intake of bean, cauliflower, carrots, peas etc. are good to prevent hair loss. Other hair loss vitamins such as biotin, Vitamin C & E are also excellent for hair growth. Sportsmen and athletes are often found to have hair loss problems. Whether sports drinks contribute to hair loss should be looked as these drinks are mostly stimulants and may have an adverse effect on hair.
